Jablotron alarm inspection: what to watch out for

Specific inspections for Jablotron systems, weak points and common issues.

Why is Jablotron popular in the Czech Republic?

Jablotron is a Czech brand with a long history. The systems are simple in design, reliable and relatively inexpensive. They are found in so many flats and houses that we call them the "Czech standard".

It is precisely because of their widespread use that it is important to know, what to focus on during inspection of a specific model.

Most common models and their specific features

Jablotron 100 (CU, CX, HE series)

The most widespread range in flats and detached houses. Typical problems:

  • Low battery in wireless sensors - PIR sensors may appear dead when the battery is below 2.8V
  • Oxidation on sensor connectors - especially for equipment older than five years
  • GSM komunikace - older modules occasionally lose signal, depending on signal strength in the area

Jablotron 80 (older series)

If you have a Jablotron 80 from 2005 or older at home, be aware: The battery in the PBX is almost certainly faulty. The backup power supply will not last more than a few minutes after a 230V outage.

A common issue is also sabotage loops, cable insulation degrades over time.

What to focus on during a Jablotron inspection

1. Wireless sensors, low battery

Jablotron wireless sensors require voltage minimum 2.8-3.0 V. If it is lower, the sensor will stop responding. The most reliable check is instrumental measurement.

2. Sirens, volume and mechanical mounting

Are the sirens securely screwed in and not loose? Does the siren achieve a volume of at least 85 dB? Jablotron sirens tend to loosen over time, especially outdoor sirens exposed to the weather.

3. Telecommunications module

If the system has GSM communication, it is necessary to send a test alarm to the central security monitoring stationOlder Jablotron modules sometimes fail when switching between operator networks.

4. Backup power supply, important!

Older Jablotron 80 and 100 units often have 12V batteries with a lifespan of only 10 years. You should replace them every 5-7 years. preventively, before they fail.

Wireless vs. Wired Jablotron systems

Wireless systems are more convenient but require more thorough battery inspectionWired systems are more stable but carry the risk of long cables unprotected against sabotage.

Weak points of Jablotron systems

  • Communication modules - most common fault in equipment older than 8 years
  • Wireless sensors - batteries fail without warning
  • Keypad - some codes become sticky or unresponsive with age
  • Tamper loops - The cable between components may be damaged during other construction work.

When to modernise a Jablotron system?

If your Jablotron system is over 10 years old and still requires repairs, consider modernisationSafeBee offers migration to newer Jablotron or competing Paradox systems, usually without new cabling.
