The paradox in the Czech Republic
Paradox is a globally established brand with a strong position in the commercial and industrial sectors. In the Czech Republic, Paradox is used primarily in shops, warehouses, offices and banksThe systems are of high quality, but management and configuration require expertise.
Typical Paradox model series
Paradox Digiplex
Old series (2005-2015), still operational but now becoming obsolete. The hardware no longer has manufacturer support, and communication modules are difficult to obtain. If you have a Digiplex, consider modernisation.
Paradox Magellan
Mid-range for small to medium-sized properties. Relatively simple operation, good parts availability. Typical age: 8-15 years. Usually in good condition if regular inspections were carried out.
Paradox Evolution (EVO)
The latest and most common series. Modular design, easy expandability, good communication (IP, GSM). Very high quality, but requires regular firmware updates.
Inspection checklist for Paradox systems
1. Diagnostics via keypad
Unlike Jablotron, with Paradox you can trigger a call. diagnostics directly in the systemThe keypad displays the status of batteries, communication, zones and triggers. Technical knowledge is truly helpful here.
2. Kontrola WiFi / IP komunikace
If you have a Paradox Evolution with an IP module, it is necessary verify connection, latency and data flowSome WiFi networks or firewall settings may block communication with the PBX.
3. Baterie a UPS zdroj
Paradox batteries (usually 12V) exhibit a steady, predictable decline in capacity. If older than 5 years, measure their capacity with a deviceWe recommend replacement after 6 years.
4. Wireless expansion modules
Paradox supports wireless zones via RF modules. These can also wear out, weak signal, poor communication with the central unit. They require testing.
Most common faults in Paradox systems
- Loss of communication with the central alarm station - IP module, SIM card or cabling
- Batteries in portable controllers - remote controls retain power for a long time but then fail suddenly

- Outdated firmware - Evolution models occasionally receive critical security patches
Upgrade a modernizace
Do you have a Paradox Digiplex and still need repairs? Upgrading to Paradox Evolution is cheaper than you might expect. - existing cabling can usually be retained, only the processor and communication modules are replaced.
